Personal History:

Gerardo Flores started his fencing career at Halberstadt Fencers’ Club at the age of 7 under the mentorship of coaches Rob Handelman, Connie Louie, and Sandor Mandoki. After 12 years of national and international competition, and training at Halberstadt, Gerardo became a coach in 2018 and got his Moniteur de Sabre certification from USFCA (United States Fencing Coaches’ Association). Along with his coaching certification, Gerardo is a rated referee, and referees local tournaments. Gerardo still trains and competes for Halberstadt.

Competitive Experience:

Competed locally, nationally, and internationally for the U.S. and has an A rating in sabre. Has been both a National and Pan-American Championship finalist and is nationally ranked in sabre.
Has qualified for the Div1 National Championships several times.

Goals for their students:

To make the sport of fencing fun for his students and pass on the teachings, life lessons, and fundamentals of fencing given to him from his many years of training at the club.
